I had an experimental chair where I was testing out wood shavings. During this process I had sawn off the leg. I came to realise I quite liked the way it slanted towards the other chair. I felt this could say something about the power dynamics of relationships. As my piece is set in the 1920s and my protagonist has given up so much of her life I felt it could chime well. The first chair stood strong shavings and leather distressed, stuffing coming out of the seat. The other more curvy chair slanted inwards. I think this works as a piece. Here are some photographs.
I have made a final decision on the chairs position. There will be wood shavings scattered on the plinth and the shoes will also feature.
